    Supporting my bike's forks???

So I purchased a light bar kit for my small bike (Thunderbird 1600) and thought about doing the work myself.
Anyways, the instructions call for loosening the fork tubes and I have no idea how to support the bike doing this.
    Thoughts?

    Damn I miss Chad...

Tie down straps from something sturdy overhead or a stack of blocks or something under the engine block/headers.

Like vfrvtec said, support from something sturdy (ladders with 2x4 between holding tie down straps) or if you have a floor jack and jack stands support the engine side cases with the jack stands. Or get on Craigslist and find a used triple tree stand to buy.

If you are only loosening the top OR the bottom (triples) nothing will move. If you need to loosen both than you are correct to be prepared. It is also possible to do one side at a time, they will move so you you need to put the fork back in place and hold while you snug it up.
