the valves on my bike are of the 'non shim' type which is kinda cool. Just wondering if anyone has ever adjusted valves like these without the special tool they say is required? I think i can get a (bent) 10mm wrench in there and turn the square head adjusting screw with pliers. Thoughts anyone?

If it's the screw & locknut type I'm thinking of, I have the tool that fits the square top.
I can't slow down, the Langoliers will get me.

It is easy. A pair of needle nose pliers will suffice.
