Who is into "Beartooth Highway" and the Rockies next summer?

    Who's in?

I very much need to rail and knock Beartooth off my bucket list. Even though it'll be summer plan on heated gear for up in the Rockies and Beartooth areas.

Here is what the weather was like for me just south of Bearpass in the rockies in JULY

Okay, just looked it up, and it is way out of my planned route.
I will just have to add some days to the trip, cash to the bank and re-route to hit the area!
    Here is to dreaming! lol
    I'll get it done.

I've been to the Rockies too. But they were so awesome I want to ride them again and again (and this trip). No rule we can only ride great routes once, so let's go

I need to hit Beartooth, a little bit of the midwest such as Black Hills, Oregon/Washington, and Alaska and then my entire North American bucket list is done and its time for Europe to begin. I'll still be all over US seeing friends and family, such as when my nephews play baseball in Cooperstown and such. Last year a home run ball came over the fence as I was parking my bike, and that night he gave me a shirt said "My Nephew Hit Home Run at Cooperstown. Good stuff!

Serp's over the cross-country riding. I want to do another trip, but one where I have more time to see the sights. Packing 10,000 miles into 3 weeks is a lot of work.

We tried Beartooth Pass in late July back in '09 or '10 ... turned back by cold. 45 minutes later it was mid 80's at lower elevations. I won't mention the name of the person who chickened out

The Rockies are incredible. I do a different kind of riding out there each year. It involves a snowboard in March. Traversing some of the roads out there during winter time is really an ass-puckering experience.

Y'all have fun..that's just too damn far for me to be riding a Ninja. I'd probably want to quit before we the GA border. LOL

Well Steve, how is the planning for this trip going?

I have been looking over these self-guided tours, I figure they can make all of the arrangements I just need to ride and enjoy. Self guided so that I don't end up in a group of lolly-gaggers.

    Thoughts?
