Glad you are ok, hope you learned a lesson about riding your own ride.. What you experienced is what we call a ROOT crash..

Yes your ego is bruised, but fortunately, that heals the easiest. Good luck finding a new bike, and take your time, get some seat time, maybe even a few track days......
Funny, but worst advice ever.. Crashing on a track, sure, its safer, crashing on the street with so many IMMOVABLE objects... not so good

Find the best bike that you can afford. Make really doesn't matter that much. I've had Kawi, Suzuki and Yamaha. All were good bikes. Best thing about having a GSXR is that the parts are cheap and easy to find. Good luck in your search.

You lived...kiss the ground.
Now, sign up for a track day, listen to what the fellas here have to say, take it slowly one step at a time, and start over.
PS: You have the balls to admit you were over your head and screwed up. GOOD FOR YOU! That takes more balls than riding fast.
Have you considered getting a smaller or more newer-rider friendly bike?
Wasn't that 750 your first bike? Glad to hear your ok. If that was your first bike then I would seriously think about a 250 and ride it until you can ride the shit out of it... I love me some gixxers and I've owned 3 600s and 4 750s and put lots of seat time on them all bought my first one in 2002 telefonica edition. I rode 5 yrs before going to a 1000. Ill take a 750 over them all. Ride Safe and ride often.

Far to many people get into serious trouble on these things, I'm glad you are okay. You deserve respect for saying you were riding above your ability, lots of egos would blame the incident on a non-existent spot of gravel.
Used Street Triple
I'm looking for one myself lol
I'm not going to re-interate what's already been said, except that I'm glad you're ok. As far as bike, you have a budget range. Get the best your money can afford. Don't get set on another Suzuki or anything all these Jap I4 are relatively the same. Hoping for the best, stay safe.

So, OK, let's chat for just a minute. I, too, have gotten sucked into riding above my level, on a bike with more power than I realized and got chucked. Anyone here who tells you he hasn't done the same also will tell you he's never jerked off. That is to say, he's a liar and a hypocrite.
Now, here's your chance to do a couple things at once. 1) Build your skill 2) have more fun and 3) learn how to ride in such a way that the size of the motor has nothing to do with whether you either keep up, or leave the pack behind.
I'd STRONGLY suggest a bike such as a GSXR-600, an R6, a CBR600rr, an SV650 (if you get one with upgraded suspension). WHY? You may be asking. Well, I am glad you did.
Cornering a motorcycle well makes ALL the difference in the world. A skilled rider with HALF the horsepower can leave an unskilled rider in the dust simply by knowing how to corner.
Get this DVD and learn how to corner. You'll be safer and faster with less cc's to get you in trouble

Its not often i agree with Scottly, but i agree with that comment....
Poppanodoz also makes some good points, and dont let engine size fool you. Yeah if you are trying to keep up with liter bikes or busa's on a bridge ride you wont. But hoenstly, any throttle hero can open up the bike in a staight line and go fast- straight. The corners are where the fun is at. Now with that being said.. As poppa mentioned i have seen kids on 34 horsepower bikes completly smoke guys on bikes running 160 HP at the rear wheel..
Maybe get a 600, and take your time, get some seat time, invest in your riding and do some track days... Its all about skill, not HP
And again, it takes an adult to admit they were at fault, and got over their head, some will come up with lame excuses.....
We all make mistakes, the most important thing is we are all here to learn from it...

I'd suggest a BMW 1200 GS adventure.
But honestly I've loved those SV650s since they were TLs. Have a nice sound too. Love me a twin.

Also a big KUDOS to you for admitting you were the reason you went down. Same thing happened to me three months into my riding career.
Get back on the horse. Nothing cooler than watching a guy riding a 600 walk away from a guy riding a 1000(which I ride). Skill my man, its all skill.
