Looking for a laptop or desktop with a video card with S-video or RCA out-put to hook up to a TV. Maybe consider trade for gear.

Pimp computer, about 3-4 years old I think, needs either someone with technical knowledge to change a $1 switch in the power supply, or just needs a new power supply ($30).

Drew Let me talk to Kristy I have a Dell XPS as well with a full media upgrade, CD burner, DVD burner and it works. Plug in cable to the computer then use the video outs to connect to your TV or just watch TV on your monitor. I just have to clean it out. but we really don't use it and as long as Kristy it ok with me getting rid of it. I'd be willing to trade. What do you have?
Give me a call tonight.

I'm glad you're going this way. I don't remember if I posted in your other thread about an HTPC, but it's definitely the way to go. I have a HTPC hooked up to my living room TV with HDMI. It's the only computer in my house.
You should definitely be able to find something <$300 that will work great.
Yep. If it's a one-time use, I'd think there should be someone out there with a desktop you could borrow. Mine doesn't have RCA outputs & I can't really free it up, anyway...

depends on what you want to use it for if you plan to do any gaming your better off with the desktop if you just want to watch shows then it depends on what kind / blue ray / ect ....most of the time its best to get a decent/good desktop for the house/gaming and a small laptop/netbook for on the go computing.
I've got a Dell XPS sitting in my room. Needs no work....just has to be plugged into a charger because the battery needs to be replaced. I'd be willing to trade it for some boots!
