    Mid Season Points Standings

Half way through the season with only six races left, I have managed to climb up in the class points standings. I missed one race at Roebling Road but I hope to complete the rest of the season with no missed races.
So far, my points standings for each class are:

GTO 7th - This is a tough class with a lot of fast guys, 39 racers, so I'm pleased with where I am at the moment. With each race I seem to be placing in the top 10 with a 5th place finish at PBIR, but I'm hoping to at least get one podium finish by the end of the season. Maybe Jennings is where I can get that.

Unlimited GP 6th - There's 25 racers in this class and this is a 2 wave start race, sharing the race track with Expert Supersport Middleweight. I started racing this class after I decided to scratch Unlimited Superbike only because it was tough to do back to back races with Formula 40 and be competitive in both. I really like this class and hope to do well in the upcoming races. So far, I have one 3rd place finish at PBIR.

Formula 40 5th - This is where us old guys have a chance to race against each other in a smaller group. There's 23 racers in this class and this is a 2 wave start race as well, sharing the track with Expert Formula 40 Unlimited and Expert Formula 40 Middleweight. I really like this class because there's more expert racers out there that I can try to keep up with and learn a few things from. So far, I have one 3rd place finish at Jennings.

This has been a great experience for me and I hope to continue on to the next season. The rules are, if 400 points are collected, white plates are issued to that racer moving them up to Expert. I now sit at 317 points with 6 races to go.....

And I must say, the traveling back and forth to the tracks with LilRichard and Justin58 have been quite the laughter trip. It's a lot of fun listening to the shit talking.... lol

Come out Tues nights. People say it's all about the corners but we will teach you to be so fast in the straights that your fairings will fly off! True story!

I tell you, if you're going to a lot of track days, this is by far the best way to experience different tracks. You don't necessarily have to compete, but once you have your race license, you can just do a track day practice on the day before the races. I think it's the best $100.00 spent to ride for one day each at the four tracks in Florida.

That actually sounds like some good practice for holeshot starts from traffic lights...

Thanks Dave! I could not be doing this if LilRichard and Justin58 weren't part of the team, I think we have a team... Yes, it is expensive, but you only live once... right?!

Chris, thank you for attending and helping out when you can. It is much appreciated, however, I don't know what pit crew shirt you're talking about. Let's get Dave at Addictive Arts that has supported me from the beginning to work on that.

Thanks for the kind words - both of you. It's been a blast so far, and we have a lot more ground to cover. Next year will be in full assault mode.

Checked my points, think I was 8th in MWSS, but sucking wind in MWSB due to some shitty finishes and a crash. GTU was ok, maybe 11th? But keep in mind, that's out of almost 70 dudes with points in each class I'm in!

I see an endurance team in our near future...

That's too awesome. So cool to have guys here that compete on different levels.

Dave - I've been wanting to hit a race too. We'll have to do a road trip sometime. I guess we could be these guys pit bitches.

Ruh roh... just saw the overall Amateur standings:

    http://www.ccsracing.us/points/2012/...l%20Points.pdf

42 88.3 538.2 420 Rick Hanley, Tampa, FL Vortex, Hotbodies, Century Design
43 86.4 649.5 175 Yoan Chavez, Miami, FL Roco Performance, Dunlop, Vortex
    44 84.8 492.8 666 Stuart Hall, Tampa, FL

I never have a chance to compete with Stu directly, but I did get a snicker that I'm slightly ahead of him! But then again, I'm still in 42nd place...
