    Not afraid to ask

I'm cleared for full duty after my back surgery and healing up for 9 months. Looking for a job in the medical field. I'm in college now but could use some part time or full time work. I'm a certified paramedic with 10 yrs of experience in the medical field, so if anyone knows of any doctor's offices of hospitals that can use me, let me know.
I have several apps out with Baycare network and other places, but no bites yet. I don't plan to work for anymore ambulance agencies since they require a lot of lifting.
I'd consider a job in the automotive or motorcycle industry since I have experience there too. Also preferably within 45 mins of Brandon area.

    Thanks for any help.

I know they hire RN's but never heard of them hiring medics.

You may find the notion repugnant, but since you're not afraid to ask....

Law firms specializing in medical malpractice and/or personal injury often hire non-lawyers to review, summarize, and comment on medical records. It's important work, and it's kind of fun. Sometimes you get to play medical detective; and you'd be surprised at how much specialized knowledge you need just to determine whether you've the entire chart. You wouldn't be giving opinions as to whether malpractice occurred, you'd be gathering and summarizing medical records so that an attorney can effectively use them. Folks in that job often go on to become darn good trial lawyers.

Another potential opportunity is to be an EMT at one of the amusement parks or family amusement centers (laser tag and stuff). The big parks often employ EMTs and nurses, the smaller parks are more likely to sub-contract EMT's for the work. If you take that kind of work, I suggest you keep up your professional liability insurance. If you are presented with any sort of employment agreement for a hands-on clinical medical job, feel free to ask me to eye-ball it. Health care deals are my thing (I'm a lawyer); and I tend not to rape sportbike riders.

    Good luck.
