    Dyno Test

So I went and had my bike Dyno Tested to get a performance baseline, and because it is cool to hear your bike howl at its pike. Now what can I do to get more power out of it? I am riding a Daytona 675, with an Arrow full exhaust so this is def not a drag bike but i want to know what I can do to get more performance out it on the street and on the track.

LOL, Fictionnn, funny but he is asking a serious question and this is a no jacking zone....

Mortan, I have heard there is a lot someone can do to gain some horsepower on their bike. As for your specific bike, I am not really sure... You might want to look for a Triumph forum, and ask around there. I know when I have questions about my ZX-10 i belong to a Kawasaki forum and get a lot of good info there from people all over the world...

    Isnt this your first bike?
Not to sound like a d!ck but save your money and learn to ride.
You dont have the skill to use that bike to its full potential even with it being
bone stock. Very few people do so dont take it the wrong way.

Save your money and buy leathers.
And if you are interested in the track then spend your money there.
Then maybe you will be able to expierence the power that your bike posses.
Once you get hooked on track riding you will need all your money for tires and track fees anyway.
If after that you still think you need more power (which you wont) then the only way that
will happen is if you have the engine built.
Your cycle is bad a$$ as it is.
Other then that its all just a waste of money.

I was the same way then I hit the track and found out what it is like
to operate a cycle at Full Tilt.
Even after I hit the track I wanted shit for my suspension then realized
that I still cant even ride fast enough to upset the suspension so spending
a g-note+ on it would just be a waste of money.
This was advice that was passed down to me. It still took me 2 track days to
accept the fact that it would be just a waste of money (hard headed).
Now I just spend it on tires, track schools and track fees.
I now have a CCS race lic.

Well, you can get a aftermarket air filter, then get a PC3 and has it custom map. I got 6 HP after I got it mapped by KWS, and the throttle response is great now.

all very good advise. your going to learn alot more about the bike after the track day, also like griff said maybe research aftrmrkt parts for the bike.(since its so new).if you've instlled a full ex. iam assuming that you allready have a pc of some sort. also like frank said gearing can make a dramatic difference. in fact i would bring some extra sprockets to the track and ill help you put them on. as long as were not replacing chains. should beable to go 1dwn in the frnt hopefully w/out needing new chain.if so do it before the track, itll make a hugh difference!

Your not being a dick, I totally get what you are saying. This is my "first" bike, that i own but have been riding for about a decade. I can't wait to hit the track and see how little I known, but also being my first bike I want to learn as much about it and tinker with it as much as possible. I wasn't going to make any mods soon (no cash) but after getting back from the dyno test I was pumped to find out what I can do next.

If you alreay had a pipe on during your run, how was your fuel mixture at all throttle positions? I would probably recomend a powercommander and custom map. Regardless of power gains, a smooth running bike will help you ride better.
    Good enough, isn't.

    Cool.
Then you know if the bike is smooth or not.
Definitely do the gearing change these guys recommend (you might need a new chain)
I understand about the "tinkering" thing.
If you do become addicted you'll be doing alot of tinkering thats for sure.
You have a brand spanking new bike a bad a$$ one at that she should be
    running smooth.
After the track day youll have time to reflect and it will sink in that all this
extra cash you want to put in the bike will be better spent at the track.
In the end its your money and your decision.

Youll definitely be pumped after your first lap @ the track.
And youll have a smile on your face that will last for days afterwards.
The only thing youll be talking about is your expierence at the track and
how much fun it was and how you cant wait to go back......

I asked the guy that ran it if the air/fuel mixture was something I should get checked out because of the pipe but he told me that the numbers looked good.

The best run was 112.67 hp. I didn't get a reading for torque which would have been nice to see.

Slo has got the right idea here!

Make sure you take your bike to a reputable tuner for the custom map.......it will make a big difference. A lot of tuning places will give you a map for max HP. This is good for the track but not so good for the street. Bottom line..........get a map that is tuned for the street. Try the bike out at the tuning center to make sure it's right before you bring it home. If it's not right have it fixed there. That's my $.02.
