Love my A*s. Its all I've had and I love them. Rode a couple of times in regular shoes when I first started riding and it just feels awkward. Also I like to feel I'm protected.

Yeah, you have to get used to them. I the Puma Ducati GT Tech boots and the first day I wore them I just had trouble feeling the clutch or whether my foot was really on the foot peg LoL
Never actually got my foot stuck, that sounds dangerous! but after wearing them out a few more times I got used to them, though I don't feel like they help me feel the clutch better or anything, I def feel more protected with them.

Speed and Strength make a nice pair of riding shoes/boots. The come up just above the ankle and I really had no issues shifting the bike.

When I started I rode with hi-top sneakers and about a month in, I decided to get a pair of boots. Icon SuperDuty, the improvement in the feel while riding was astronomical. When from always feeling sloppy to tight and precise. I've got 3 pairs of boots now, anytime on 2 wheels they are on.

i didnt read all the posts so if i am posting something that someone else already posted, i apologize.... I did read some say it take some getting used to and that is very true, also that you can adjust your shifter to make it easier, again another true statement.

Once you get used to it, it will be much better. I got used to riding my bike with racing boots, and i have aftermarekt rearsets. And the couple of times i had rode my bike to the gym, wearing sneakers, i hated the way the shifter felt on the top of my foot in sneakers, it actually hurt

Plus there's no way I'm wearing something with laces that close to a spinning chain.

You're such a delicate little flower....

Actually, I'm the same way with sneakers, and even getting to that point with my ICON riding boots vs my track boots, but the ICoNs are getting quite worn on top, which may explain why they're starting to hurt when i shift.

not to mention when the laces get stuck on your heel guard and your foot wont reach the ground, while coming to a stop at a light, not good. i ruined a pair of shoes because of this.

on a lighter note, i have a pair of used puma 1000, ther are used, size 10. 10.5 has some rach on em, but stil in great working shape. 100 bucks takes em (OBO)

I think it all depends on what style boot you choose. My first pair of boots were Icon Chukkas and I sold them after 3 rides because they were way too bulky for my liking... My next choice were the Alpinestars SMX-2's and I do have to say they have a great profile and are super comfortable. Now I don't like to ride without them.

i wear full size riding boots everywhere i go. one of the most common motorcycle injuries i see at the hospital is above the ankle or below the knee amputations. i don't know why. i just know boots would have saved their limb. i guess when people get t-boned or start to low side into a car their leg gets crushed.

alot of surgeons think motorcyclist are drain on our healthcare system and wont put alot of time into fixing your body parts unless you have an above average chance or recovering cause they think you will only wreck again in the near future.

i think we should all wear decent boots everywhere we ride.

I wear Sidi boots. Never got stuck, but I've heard some folks have problems with aftermarket rear sets and Sidi boots. Love them.

I am looking at a non race alternative, but not sure what to get. To the OP.. Do the boots not feel right just walking around? Or are you mainly having issue with riding and rear sets?
