    Best Hotdogs

Used to like to ride to TC Topdog in Daytona.

Where is the best hot dog in Florida, in your opinion?

I use to hang out at TC dogs too from the seventies till it closed.. Still have the plastic mug somewhere. Our pics were on the wall somewhere. No wonder they tore it down.

Used to like Mel's by Busch gardens but haven't been in a while. Coney island in downtown St Pete is great for chili cheese.

Don't go out for hotdogs anymore, but back in the day it was Mel's next to Busch Gardens.

Ya gotta have the meatloaf, and try some of the pie. They take a whole pie and slice it into four quarters. THAT is a slice.

The Salty Dog cafe at New Pass is the bomb. As Griff pointed out they had a Man -vs- Food episode there.

They have a beer battered deep fried hot dog and you can get it with like 10 different toppings. And if you like Prime Rib they have one of the best prime rib sandwiches in the area.

Mel's is the only other place that I have been to that has an authentic Chicago style dog.

I'm partial to Mel's, though I've never tried Salty Dog's.

Mel's and Salty Dog Cafe are completely different hot dogs so you really can't compare.

If you are looking for a good Chicago style natural casing hot dog then Mel's it is.

If you want to try something different head down to Salty Dog Cafe. We always go by boat so I couldn't tell you how to get there by car.
