    Painting Timeframe....

    What would you do?

Lets say you sent a person a Custom Tire Hugger and Custom Solo Cowl to get painted. Four months have passed with little communication on the other party's part. It seems you have to send 2-3 PM's in order to recieve one reply which is usually a short response stating xxx came up.

I am pretty lenient and have been very patient but think I am getting to the end of that road right now. I have sent the party a PM stating if they could not completed the job almost 3 weeks ago to send the parts back to me.. haven't heard anything still.

Im pretty pissy about this kind of thing, so I dont blame you for wanting your shit back...

Also... if its just one color you want... Jamie has paint guns and shit and is always willing to make a few bucks. He just painted his POS kawi and it looks pretty good... for a POS kawi.

Go to the shop and do NOT leave, until you get your stuff back.

If they are a TSBer, then you have given them an opportunity to rectify this situation and to do so by saving face.

I'd say go by the shop and see what the hold up is. It's easy to blow someone off if they are on the phone or E-mail. It's harder to BS someone when they are standing in front of you.

I would venture to guess this is not a local person or entity in the realm of driving distance?? So start getting your sh!t together now if things get nasty real fast. I would start getting a paper trail recorded (receipts of tracking numbers, evidence you sent them your property, copies of correspondence, emails, PM's, posts, etc...

I’d send them (him) an official letter (US mail) with confirmation delivery, formally requesting your parts back thus canceling said job based on unsatisfactory turn-around time. Oh, and you *might* have or want to accept responsibility of return shipping charges, so just look at it as a cheap way of not dragging this out forever and getting back on with your life.

BTW, as long as it’s not “art”, I can paint too.

I'm going through this same thing right now. I've been through it before too. For some odd reason, this type of shit is very common in the paint field. Personally, I can't stand it. If I give someone my word, I keep it. If I say something will be done on X, it will be done!

They actually are not to far from me just didn't have time to travel over there during the week and busy on the weekends so mailing it seemed more convenient. I did put a tracking number and kept the reciepts ( Have been doing that for years after some Ebay problems). I will probably end up swinging by this weekend since I am headed that way for an oil change. I'll keep everyone updated.
