I would venture to guess this is not a local person or entity in the realm of driving distance?? So start getting your sh!t together now if things get nasty real fast. I would start getting a paper trail recorded (receipts of tracking numbers, evidence you sent them your property, copies of correspondence, emails, PM's, posts, etc...
I’d send them (him) an official letter (US mail) with confirmation delivery, formally requesting your parts back thus canceling said job based on unsatisfactory turn-around time. Oh, and you *might* have or want to accept responsibility of return shipping charges, so just look at it as a cheap way of not dragging this out forever and getting back on with your life.
BTW, as long as it’s not “art”, I can paint too.
