If you or anyone you know has been effected by this horrible drug, take 15 seconds to sign this petition. I lost my brother in 2006 at the young age of 22 years old to this drug, if this drug gets taken off the market, thousands of lives will be saved.

If your unfamiliar with this drug, sign the petition, and read some of the 7,000 comments.

This is corporate genocide and must be stopped.

I wouldnt say genocide so much as an uncontrollable cancer unleashed by coprorate greed. I wholeheartedly support it being banned though.

I think genocide is defined as intentional mass murder, which this isnt exactly. its more of a corporate greed thing.

Not trying to play devil's advocate here, but what about people that are in legitimate pain, like cancer patients etc... I remember after surgery for a collapsed lung that was the only thing that would keep me out of pain, so there are some realistic uses for such medication. I don;t take them now, because they're not necessary. Yes, they are addictive, but us as individuals always have the power of choice to take or not take.

I'm currently on Vicodin, actually, due to my accident (see sig)
If I could not take anything because everything was banned due to people CHOOSING to abuse drugs, do I deserve to live in pain for the rest of my life due to someone else's negligence?

Was waiting for someone to post something along these lines, so I can agree with it. +1. Solutions to almost everything are within the individual. Cant wait till they take away my guns, cause they could kill people.

    Very sorry about your brother!
I really am, but banning it isn't the answer.
Then again I don't know how to regulate it any better.

I'm sorry for the loss of your brother. I too know someone who died because of this drug (albeit, not a family member, but a hard loss nonetheless.)

When i had my accident back in 06 they put me on Oxycodone,Oxycontin,Fetanyl Pain patches....

When i wasnt in pain anymore i tried to just stop taking them. I became soooooo sick and didnt know why i called the Dr and he told me i was going thru withdrawls.. He told me i had to slowly stop taking them cut back on my doses and everything.. Needless to say i was terrified of these pills and i just stopped cold turkey and went thru the worst 3-4 days of my entire life. Hot then cold irritable throwing up just AWFUL! I have NEVER been addicted to any drugs or alcohol and i have experimented with many.

It scared me so much to know that my body felt like it needed these pills!!!

I beleive the pills are necessary in SOME cases because they are the only thing that works sometimes.. But all these pain managment Drs that are passing them out like skittles is what needs to be stopped!!!

They cleaned house this mornings paper has it on the front page. The arrested 200 people at a clinic in T town. Its not just Oxycontin. The roxys and oxycodon are whet they are getting. The parking lot was full of out of state cars and vans and they actually tail gate in the parking lot at the clinic. The doctors are just giving the shit away. And honestly they dont take the pain away they just make ya smile and tolerate it. They are saying that 1 person A DAY is dieing in Hills county from them.

The sad part is the tax payers are buying the majority of the Oxy (and the like) that are being filled in our local pharmacies. I cant tell you how many scripts my store fills a day with a $0 copay (on us) and not just for 30 or 60 try 240 pills. I worked at a store a cpl yrs ago where the first Friday of the month this cpl would come in, travel from Hudson to P.Park to see their fav clinic. they would each have 14 identical scripts to the tune of about $1500 retail each for $0 copay medicaid.

Ban No regulate a bit more Yes. Hell they fixed the Psudephedrine problem over night. you can only by an allotted amount per month, (3gm or 30gm) either way it amounts to the equivalent of 2 pills a day. I can pull up on my comp at work from your DL# every store you bought from and which dose. the Reg/Comp won't allow a sale beyond the limit.

Regulating can be done but it won't cuz the Dr. wants the office visit. And the pharmacies want the script count.

I don't think they should be banned either.Just because some drug addicts wanna get high and overdose isn't anyone's problem , but the junkie's . Don't pull the "you don't know what it's like" card either.I was a heroin junkie and I cleaned myself up.You have to "want to be clean" to get clean.Morgan is another example. She wanted to be clean and did it.

I'm sorry about your brother but a ban isn't the answer. stricter enforcement over who/when/why people get them is.

My mother in law has had 7 back surgeries and will need more. She would much rather not be on pain pills but doesn't have a choice. with out them she would be bed ridden.
    They have a valid use

Besides if these are banned then something else will come along to replace them.

Very True! But then again alot of people dont have the stregnth to come off them because the withdrawls are horrible! and even though they want to quit sometimes its jsut tooooo late... But i do totally agree if you want to quit you can. You gotta suck it up and just do it!

    Thank you

Sorry for your loss bro, but what are we going to ban next?
Cigarettes because they are addicting and cause cancer? Beer because it can lead to alcoholism, drunk driving, liver failure, and death? Chemo-Therapy because it can sometimes be more harmful than the actual cancer?

Just saying....banning anything isn't the answer - what you need to do is to beat the crap out of those kids that think doing drugs is cool.
