Very cool bike, but sorry, for $35k+ I'm buying a new superbike and modding it to my specs. Today's bikes may not have the nostalgia but they have advanced technology and performance that runs circles around that RC30. Even if money wasn't an issue I wouldn't pay that much for it.

your right , this was an example of collectors . unfortunately 35k won't buy you a top level super bike ie the MV AGUSTA CC-@ 120,000. EVEN A DUCATI DAMOTACCI STARTS AT ABOUT 50K.

You wouldn't consider the new Ducati 1198S for $21,000 a top level superbike?

Hey, Power to'em If I had the flow I would have a set. Might be a set of 20 year old females from japan, but a set.

  6. That is an absolute beautiful RC-30. I would have considered bidding on that if I had seen the auction earlier.

I think some of you are missing the point with an older bike like this...people who buy bikes like this are collecting or buying a piece of art. I would imagine that they are buying this bike to more or less look at than to ride.

I see nothing wrong with spending $35k for a piece of art if it strikes emotion in you, and this piece of art just happens to burn gasoline...I wish I had one.

no the , its in the same category as the rc 8 , the MV AGUSTA V-4 an the abs respol . the top shelf guy start at around 75k an go up from there . i guess you could consider a BIMOTO one only because they are all hand made an they only make x amount a year .

I see your point and agree, Drew. I have family that has purchased something for no other reason than it's rare, artistic value of significance. I don't know if I could buy the RC30 and NOT ride it, since it's whole being is to be ridden. Unlike a painting on the wall.

It would be like someone buying an old rare botle of wine just so they can say I have "X" bottle of wine in my cellar. It will never be opened or consumed just appreciated. I actually purchased a $400 bottle of wine for my step-father so he could simply have it in his cellar...doh!

If I had 35K to blow on a motorcycle, I'd grab this one in a second.

The 1198S, RSV-R, etc. are all nice bikes. The thing that differentiates this Honda from the aforementioned bikes is that it is appreciating in value.

    I don't know... I wouldn't mind spending $35K on a painting but I don't think I will ever spend that much on a bike.
A production bike or even a custom one can never be 'art' to me, but then again that's just me.

as the years roll by its value will only increase, especially as the others start dying off. Don't know how many are left of that 300 but you can count on that number getting smaller and smaller.
