Has anyone picked up a handheld GPS that'll do directions or at least plotting and fits on a tank mount nicely??
I'm looking around- I like riding but I don't know the area real well.
Cheers :occasion1

Buy an etrex, make the mount your self, right now the whole thing should cost less than $100, unit+mount. It will cost more if you buy the power cord.

This is my setup.

Just tie-wrap/zip-tie the standard base to the top of the triple clamps. Very solid. Works great.

The GPS Base. Pick it up at the store (~$20).

GPS Base tilted open. The base is in 2 parts so that it can be rotated. The bottom - stationary - part is the part that's tie-wrapped to the tripple-clamp.
Typically on other surfaces you would screw or glue it. But the tie-wraps are very secure, and they are removable w/o messing up the bike.

I use my Manta camera mount for my garmin GPS, works nice, have velcro on the GPS and the mount, you can see the 12v lighter cord plugged in to the right of the instrument pod where I put a outlet
