retards, if your running from the cops why didnt they all split up instead of riding in a huge noticeable group?

1) Running from the cops is a bad idea, unless you are in a position where getting a speeding ticket is the least of your worries

2) Morons - they absolutely should have gone different directions immediately - even if you don't know where you're going it is better than staying in one group.

Gotta agree. Running's a felony, and although they're not supposed to give chase for a traffic violation. They still do in most cases.

they were the idiots that ran, they got busted. serves em right. you just dont run from the law, unless a traffic ticket is the least of your problems. hell, running from the law is just a cowards way to deal with the situation. I'd love nothing more than to see everyone be willing to take responsibility for their actions instead of running from the cops.

Unfortunately VROD, there's undesirables in every group, be it sportbike riders, Harley riders, christians, even cops.
Most cops I've talked to understand this as well. But we all learned about stereotypes in 5th or 6th grade and you're never gonna get away from it any more than we're gonna stop idiots from buying "Sportbikes".

You're right on the money. there will be your good and your bad apples in everything, be it sportbike riders, women, or even cops.

much as we hate it, they wont disappear just because we're not happy about it.

The Charlotte county newspaper said they all were from out of state on Spring Break. They also said they normally go to South Carolina but rode to Florida.

Why run get the peddy ticket and have a Lawyer have it tossed out of court... Just stop its not worth getting killed for a 90 to 300 ticket

BobTheBiker

plus the felony on your record for attempting to evade police. I'd imagine they'd find a way to throw resisting arrest with or without violence in there somewhere too, along with reckless driving, and quite a few other charges I'm sure.

to me, its easier to take the points on the license, and pay the damn fines.

TBAGR
04-09-2007, 08:40 PM
true dat and unless they had lines marked and a TRAINED trooper to time them they would not have even gotten a speeding ticket. IDIOTS. just pull over and you might catch a break. if not then take it to court...i have NEVER been convicted when i have taken a ticket to court. batting 1000!!!!!!!!!!!

i dont know on this one.i lost my licence to a d.u.i in a car and payed over 5000 to get them back.3 days after i got them back i got a letter in the mail saying if i get any points its gone again.kinda lika friendly threat from the state.these cops arent writing speeding tickets and thay bullshint saying you were speeding under 100 because thay cant admit to chassing you over 100.most times thay call anything we do <wreckless driving>and that hurts alot more than any speeding ticket.if your doing twice the limit your licence is gone anyways so why not run ? if your right then your right,if your wrong be wrong=flip that plate and haul ass !

Hmmmm, interesting how that will actually all play out in court, including any drug busts. If you are correct they were pulled over on I-75 based on call ins from other drivers. I've BEEN on I-75 and let me tell you, LOTS and LOTS of people are doing over 100mph. It is freaking scary to be riding at 85mph and have a duallie pickup blow by you.

If you are consistently passing people on I-75 from Alligator Alley all the way to the 275 split off then odds are good you are going 100+.

So, the reckless driving may stick, especially if observed by a chopper. The other stuff, I'm wondering if a "Johnnie Cochroach" type lawyer might be able to wiggle through the charges.

Or, they weren't running at all. They were speeding, but not running. If they didn't act like they were evading it is going to be tough to prove 'running'

On the other hand, some of us here have experienced 'law and order' Florida style.

They may have been mistaken for running because they didn't realize the cops were even behind them. When you are going over 100mph you're not looking behind you, lets face it. Most of us have gone over 100mph before whether you admit it or not and the last thing you want to do is look behind you. They looked like a bunch of squids anyway, I don't see any gear other than a few helmets.

Would you still have your gear on after sitting on the side on I-75 for 4 hours in the middle of the day?

ummmmmmmmm...i dont feel sorry for anyone that has lost their license due to a DUI. and then i dont feel sorry for you if you break the law and lose it again. you shouldnt run because you can kill an innocent bystander. you could run into my truck while im hauling 8000 gallons of jet fuel and kill ALOT of people. why dont you just be an ADULT and take responsibilty for you actions and stop pushing your bad behavior onto society. i didnt make you drink and drive nor did i make you speed so you sould not endanger me or my family because you want to be a dirtbag.

100 is a blip on the throttle for a second or 2, really 100 is no big deal anymore with technology and bikes / cars whatever. Its more the flying pass other cars I would guess that people get freaked out....

And personally I rarely look behind me cause its a PITA I dont know if my mirrors are too damn small but i gotta lean over and then look in them or turn around and look behind me. No Iam not fat :P just gotta pull the arms way in to see anything in my mirrors.

if you hold 185 for a minute straight the chopper will lose sight of you due to the fact that they cant keep up. once they lose sight of you they have to dissengage persuit. even if they are to find you again, since they lost visual of you they cant prove its you so your off the hook. fyi :)
