I was about to leave my house with a couple friends to go down to QS&L and I heard ambulances....Then I get 4 phone calls from people at my work calling to see if I was ok. Needless to say, a car pulled out infront of a big group of bikes causing 2 of them to wreck. Both bikes were ingulfed in (no lie) 20 foot flames. I dont know who they were. I rode up there to see if I knew anyone and to find out if the people were ok. All I know as of right now is both riders got taken to the hospital. If anyone finds out any info in this, let me know! It happened just south of the Little Rd. Mitchell Blvd. intersection in Trinity (New Port Richey) at about 8 o'lock tonight.

UPDATE: One of the riders I know personally, (name withheld in case he decides to persue future legal action on this) was on a 2006 R6, not sure about the other bike.

Just got off the phone with one of the involved parties. Basically the group was headed south on Mitchell Rd, when a car turned right out of the Kash N Karry on the corner, but instead of staying in the right lane, cut immediately into the left lane, and, according to the story I got, the rear fender of the car *may* have clipped the front fender of my buddy's R6, which caused him and the guy riding behind him to go down. Or it may have been a quick lane change, causing the rider to panic.

The R6 sprung a gas leak, a massive fire ensued, and the bike is now charred beyond recognition.

Both riders were carrying 2up, both passengers are fine. My buddy on the R6 says he's in the ER right now, and that he's fine, except for a pain in his back that he's getting checked out right now as I type.

Both riders geared and helmeted, both riders walked away.

This is freaking crazy to me, because I *ALWAYS* make the QSL run on Wednesdays, and I couldn't do it tonite due to work, and this happened....kind of surreal, really.

Obviously I wasn't there, but it sounds like the other driver failed to yield the right of way to me. If another car enters your right of way of course you'll hit them. Maybe the popo just decided you're the guy on the sport bike, you must be at fault.

Well anyone who wants to know I finally went to court on that ticket i got for that guy pulling out in front of me. (Still don’t know y I got the ticket) Anyway i took it to trial and won, funny thing was I won cause nobody actually saw me driving, neither the trooper nor the guy that pulled out. The look on the troopers face was worth the attorney fee. Guess I won on a technicality but a win is a win.:occasion1

OK, so you won on the citation (congrats!). With that resolved, are you going after the cager civilly for damages (or is your insurance going after them)?

Thanks for the update!
