INVERNESS

Motorcyclist dies after collision with truck

A Deltona man died after losing control of his motorcycle, Sunday afternoon, and colliding with an oncoming truck.

Kevin O'Neill, 32, was driving west on East Gobbler Court at about 12:30 p.m. when he lost control of his motorcycle, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. He missed a curve, crossing the eastbound lane and rolling into the path of a Ford truck driven by Harold Weatherly, 50, of Floral City.

O'Neill hit the front of the truck and both vehicles came to a final rest on the south shoulder. Weatherly was uninjured, according to the FHP.

very very familiar with that corner (if its the 2nd turn before the Circle K, tight right hander off a pretty long straight.). Its a tricky one because the 3 or 4 before that are nice sweeper that have expanding radii and you come off of a pretty good straight and carry alot of speed.

Sad.... R.I.P.

*i know its impossible for this board, but think the "take it to the track" comments could be minimized??

RIP. My business partner was on that ride with some local ZRXers. He said it was a sad sight. The guy's wife was also on the ride on her own bike. May God bless his family.
