Both are OK but in some pain. No broken bones just broken bike and even it's not all that bad. I was right behind them and saw the whole thing. Matt hit the turn way too fast and I knew immediately he wasn't going to make since I almost made that same mistake on that turn the first time I went through it by myself. Luckily he was on the brakes for a long time before they hit the grass at about 35 mph and low sided. Carrie some how got kicked back out into the road while Matt stayed with the bike. They never would have crashed if they hadn't run out of asphault (sp?). I'm just glad there wasn't a car coming the opposite direction. I'm not a fan of riding two up on a run like that, but to each thier own I guess. I think two up should be saved for a Saturday night cruise or something a little more mellow. I never ride with anyone on the back because I don't want that kind of responsibility and if something bad were to happen I'd probably never ride again. See yall next Sunday.

I'm glad they're ok.
Yeah, to each is own...I was the guy riding 2up in the front the whole time. If you can ride and you know the roads you shouldn't have a problem. I think riding 2up makes me a better rider but that's just me.

Glad to hear they walked away from it. It certainly could have been worse.

Its not the N run that is the problem. In most cases its the rider pushing to far wheather is beyond ability trying to keep up or just not knowing whats ahead and getting caught off guard.
There are Much more accidents happening in the citys in the late hours than on the Nrun.
With that said I sure glad to hear they were able to continue and that they are both in good health.

^Or animals. The day I binned it I had something jump out at me twice. Sideshow saw the first one, and I binned it the second time something jumped at me.

+1 on all points.
Was this on the way up or coming back? I've gotten deceived on the second bike trail crossing on the way back. Thankfully I was able to keep it up and ride it thru... good experience for the track this weekend fosho!

Thats a nasty segment - I'm always tempted to just take the damn bike trail all the way up for my burger.....preferably on one wheel.
I'm over riding two up - it facks with the suspension like having a cow on your back - I don't care if the girl only weighs 50 lbs, still messes everything up on that bike.

Its not everyones cup of tea. Alot of others seem to like it. they just need to be made aware by whoever leads the ride to understand that it is much cooler to ride a safe comfortable speed and be waited for than to push it and get hauled back home or worse.

when i did a nrun 2 weekends ago we came across 4 kids in the road, then once we weaved around them not even 40 feet in front of us was a little facker putting rocks in our lane of the road. not to forget the pit bull that decided to run in the road on the exit of a turn near gobler, that was fun.

This was exactly the case. They had never done the N<RUN before and were riding slightly beyond his ability.

Exactly!
I have nothing against the roads themslef. Hell I ride them all the time.
It's the chumps out there trying to be Rossi when the don't know what the hell they are doing. Or just plain ridding at way unsafe speeds. Sooner or later when they go down they are taking someone with them.
I would rather ride up there myself or with just a FEW people I know and know thier ridding. I take the speed thrill to the track where you can take tighter speeds at higher speeds and still be safer.

Best quote off the N. Run:
"I'd rather wait for a rider at a stop sign, then wait for an ambulance."
I need North Runs - they sate my hunger for good burgers and sweet tea. : )

track or street... there is a right and wrong way to do it. the track is definitely the safer venue to go fast, but even there you can get hurt if you're not careful.
the n-run can be as safe or as dangerous as you make it. the roads are not haunted and try to hurt you, it's the ones that think riding faster in someone's backyard is ez that get burned.
