im thinking about taking them back...i talked to a tech at cycle springs that i met at oz's last nite and he said aluminum sprockets on a 1k wont last me but 2/3 months. i got the 520 conversion but i mite go back to 530 when i take these back. i want dunlop qualifiers btw just not the money for them now...just means i can keep tearin up my stockies :)

keep it clean and lubed. you will be able to get a lot more out of your chain and sprockets than 1k.

they last the same...i myself never had a problem with alloy sprockets...like he said keep the chain adjusted and lubed... just like anything else if u dont take care of it it wont last

his sprocket issues is a non-issue. he should not worry about wear or any of the such....keep it clean and lubed and it will last a long time.

^ item 36 may not seem like a big deal until your nut is missing and you have to replace your engine case.

You obviously have not been shown how to do the chain properly. I use chainwax and it will not fling if aplied correctly.

2. take a short ride to warm the chain
3. Apply the chainwax
4. let sit to set up, the longer the better.


I will then add a light coat every 100 miles right when I pull in the garage, and let sit overnight.

well that may be the start i always did it after i washed my bike....I always clean the chain with some cleaner stuff then lube it i didnt know it should be warm! Ahh i learned something

I would prefer number 2 because TSB do not ban people over misunderstandings. But when it's not beling allowed to be let go then we have no choice but uption 1.

I realize that buck locked this thread, and not to over ride you at all buck, but there was just one more thing I wanted to say..

I want to apologize to all the TSB members for what I said today. I know I was wrong, and as an Admin, I should control my feelings better. I should lead by example but I let my emotions get the best of me and I attacked another TSB member. That is in violation of the TSB rules, and in doing so, I have issued myself a warning....
