Get going around 65 or 70 mph. This sounds fast but remember stoppies are done while you are braking, you've probably lost 15 -20 mph as soon as you touch the front break. Make sure your front tire is in good shape and warm. Make sure there is no sand or gravel on the road or your front tire will lock up and start to skid usually ending in a crash if you don't catch it right away. Start squeezing the front brake. You will feel your weight going forward and your front suspension loading. You will slide forward in the seat, your head will go down as you feel the rear of the bike come up. If you think the rear of the bike is coming up to quick, let off the brake. The front suspension has to load/compress before the rear tire will come up. If you come to a stop before your rear tire has lifted up you didn't squeeze the brake fast / hard enough. Try it again and slowly pull the brake faster and harder.

Too fast:

When done right, stoppies can be fun for the whole family.

practice practice practice...

progressivly grab more brake than the first time you tried, if that does not work, progressivly grab some more until you get it off the ground, after that, it is just a learning curve until you are doing them with ease.

start slow

but here is the key.

If you just jam on the break you will skid
you have to ease into it and preload the front suspension
just take it step by step and you will get it.

I honostly don't think I've done one since that night!!
I ain't gotta flip and crash to realize the damage potential, this time. :sinister:
I was just doing complete stoppies-20mph area.
NOTHING like a 60-70mph roller!!
That mandates a crash ready setup-rider and bike!

Endos are the best! Just like a wheelie...stoppies have balance points too:
