a lot of people talk about going, but few from the site have been, homestead is a fun track, and even in June, believe it or not, its not that bad down there, bring a fan, and you use the garages, all cement, it ends up being pretty cool, plus the ocean breeze helps

Dwyer is doing a school that day too, is homestead worth 205 a day ?

as far as i know, Dwyer is one of the CR's down there. Barrett and John Long do the school. Now sure if Dwyer is an instructor for the school as well.
Is homestead worth 205 a day? That is a good question, guys on liter bikes love that track due to the fast straights, personally i think its a good track day, and worth the money to ride down there. The groups arent as small as a private day at jennings, there will typically be about 70 riders total. The groups are spaced out pretty well. The one down side is that the novice and intermediate groups tend to have quite a few typical So Fl riders on liter bikes, who have little experience cornering, so they tend to be all gas in the straights, and all brakes in the corners.
IMO, every track is worth what ever to ride, riding different tracks teaches you something new, something different. People think they are braking hard at jennings, jennings is very light braking track, homestead will teach you more about braking, and get you more comfortable with SPEED on a track.
Jennings is 130 on a weekend and 105 on a monday. So you are looking at spending 75-100 more for a day. Cheap NO, but homestead isnt 4500 to rent for a day, it is about 3 times that to rent for the day. So the cost will go up. For me, the extra money is worth it for the following reasons:
1. Most times, not all, but most, lunch is included
2. It riding a different track, learning new skills that will make you faster on your "Home Track"
3. The only way you can ride homestead is CCS, Penguin School, or a Fl Track day event
I am considering that June 5th date cuz 2 weeks later is a CCS race down there, that i want to run, and i havent been down there since May of last year. I also need to buy tires for that weekend and the race weekend so it will be a crazy expensive month for me.
But in a long and rambling response, personally i think 205 is worth it for the day at homestead. I enjoy that track.

I know Jerry loves the place, The link says he is teaching an advanced class or something like that. the straights do look like fun though. Its just so hard to drop 4 or 5 hundred bucks in a weekend these days.
I justified not doing dynoworks by looking at my checking account monday morning. I still had money in it.

ha haha... yeah, well we have an expensive habit.... that is the downside, at least you can still ride the streets...

205...just consider the extra 75 rental fee for the garage, lol. I guess I need to talk to the mrs tonight...
I live 2 minutes from the track. Been to that track more times than I can remember and we've never paid a garage fee. 205 includes everything. Griff if you or anyone else comes down you can keep your bikes in my garage. I live in a good gated community.
Dwyer is now doing a special class for advanced riders for an extra 150. Very limited space for that class to ensure personalized instruction. I think it's 5 maybe 10 riders.
I hope this helps with some of the questions.
Btw, this track is well worth it!!!!!!!!

I just meant that the $75 difference between JenningsGP and Homestead could be justified by getting to feel like a pro using a garage instead of a little concrete pad and an easy-up. I totally think it's worth it. I'm still considering the expense.

Gotcha! The worst part of the track day will be gas. You guys should car pool.

honestly, i love the facilities at homestead more than jennings, tired of dirt in everything, at homestead, everything is cement, no dirt.... and no need for ez-ups, since yoiu are in the garages....
and its a different track...

probably not, the person i was gonna go with cant make it, and i need a rear tire, so with that, plus the cost of travel for one person, just cant justify the expense right now
