I've just moved here about 6 months ago and FJ Motorsports has been who I've used since I came to Tampa. For the most part I mean the customer service and the folks that work there are great but my last 2 occasions have been giving me reason to find another shop. First time I went there was to lower my bike, well they drop my bike while it was on the stand, I was pretty pee'd but they fixed the damage. Second time I bought another bike and also went to get it lowered but the price was a lot more than the first bike I got lowered. I understand bikes are different but both bikes are the same make/model, lowering link price was in the same range and I also got an additional service (suspension adjustment) on the first bike, so I don't know if it was an increase in labor charges or what. Once again the people there are really cool but the service for me hasn't been the best.

Odd first post.

They have done work for me in the past and great care was taken with my bike. I call reason to be suspicious with this one.

see, here's proof "no good" comes as a result lowering sportbikes http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif

Yea I can see how this would be an odd first post I guess, but I mean do my words lose credibility b/c I didn't post somewhere else before talking about my experience. Like I said those guys have great customer service but as for me personally I have a had a some hick-ups with them.

I understand that you're not totally happy, but this is certainly not the best way to approach it. be glad that they took care of what they broke. mistakes happen in any business, no matter where you go.

I only take my bike to them. George typically works on my bike and every single time they have gone out of their way to accommodate me. They even lent me a motorcycle ramp when I needed to take my bike to a dealer. If I remember correctly they did raise their labor charge awhile ago and they set a fixed price for certain work regardless of time spent. That might be why your prices are different. I have reviewed them a few times and have been happy every time. I can certainly understand that people will have problems. Think about how many times you have made a mistake at your job! as long as they take ownership and fix their mistakes you know that they are good people. Unlike Go Eco Green Machines...

I'm not trying to bad mouth these guys just talkin about my experience. Forums are where you go to talk about products or services anyways, thats how you get the best information on where and how to spend your money. Mistakens happen yes but "be glad that they took care of what they broke", that is what a business is suppose to do when they mess up.

everyone's got an experience places, and often these posts are helpful. it does not make it any less credible that you only have a couple posts.

welcome.

Yah I agree; just an odd first post is all. There is an introduce yourself section; you should say hello there and get to know everyone. Since it is a forum you will find your typical forum nazis, forum trolls and republicans so dont be shocked, but TSB is mostly filled with great people(even the republicans). Participate in rides and Meet and eats and you will wonder wth you did without us! I think I was lucky b/c I found the forums the month or so after I started riding. I got tons of great advice.

when I say be glad they did, I mean that not every business out there DOES, so be glad you chose one that did right.

Yea, I don't think anyone I saying that your experience isn't valid, or credible, but when someone logs on for the first time and posts what u posted, it seems more like an angry ex girlfriend trying to get even.

I'd like to see what the guys at FJ have to say.

I don't remember this specific incident, but yes we have made mistakes in the past....and have taken ACCOUNTABILITY for each one. NO shop does perfect work...but we strive on customer service and taking accountability for every job we do. (most shops dont) We won't please everyone and we accept that....

I was gone to FJ numerous times and have never had a problem with anything they have done for me... FJ is actually the only shop my bike has ever been to... but i do 95% of my work myself... they are my go to guys for tires, brakes and whatnot.. great guys there though and they know what they are doing..

Thanks guys....like I said, we cant please everyone and I am not closing the thread because someone is not 100% happy with us! Let them air it out! These posts always do us good VS harm!

Well put!!! I have never used you guys but I am sure I will be there for my next set of tires. I agree that you should leave the thread open. It shows that you stand behind your work. No one will ever please 100% of the customers 100% of the time but by your quick honest reply it shows that you strive to.

this thread is going places. I'm watching it closely as I need my bike lowered, stretched, and the exhaust can sawed off http://i80.photobucket.com/albums/j180/stevewfl/bigthumb.gif

Thanks Steve....and in this business, ACCOUNTABILITY is key!!! So I think we did the best for this customer. As far as price change, the customer should have approached management about this...our prices are pretty consistent.

I dont personally suggest/like it...but to each his/her own!

+1 this is showing a standup business and owner. closing something like this would simply be foolish.

So what's your name? Maybe that will help him remember you?

Seems fair that if you're gonna call someone out that you'd give them a chance to redeem themselves right? So that may clarify things?

What if I want to change the angle of the neck, then put a larger tank, what about a 300 rear tire. Im not sure yet.

fj powder coated my wheels and they did it in less than a week. For the best price around I might add. Thanks again.

I have confirmed that this happened in one ocassion, so I suspect this is the person that started the thread. Thats OK, this is what forums are for. We did what we could for the customer (after dropping the bike) and they seemed satisfied. I think this is more about the "price change". Like I said before, we are consistent with our prices and I am yet to hear that we are unfair. This was never brought to managements attention, so in reality...this person has no reason to be complaining. We would have made any adjustments necessary if need be.

FJ is only shop now for my bikes as well, after a couple of Barney mistakes.

Mainly due to their customer service, which is a field i have been in for 14 years.

we all like to see these situations handled fairly

I brought it up to the individual who checked me out (don't know his name) and was pretty much brushed off.

FJ is the best shop around. Period.

Did you not ask how much it would be when you dropped the bike off? That would have been a great time to say whoa whoa whoa. The last time it was yadda yadda yadda.

I've never had any work done at fj but one thing is for sure. They have very competitive prices.

Sorry you had a bad experience with a Tsb sponsor.

Exactly. Kinda hard to complain about the price if you didn't get a quote up front.

I've only purchased tires from FJ but the few times I have, they've always been good about pricing and came down in price when I showed them a better deal at another shop.

So I would say they are pretty straight about about their pricing and I've never had any issues.

Thanks guys..we try to be consistent. Seems like a there's a disconnect somewhere. I wished customer would have brought it to management before blasting us...If management would have "brushed off" then at that point, they would have reason to complain.

The indiividual who checked me out failed to explain the charges that I was questioning, nevertheless I went to FJ today and the manager and I talked and everything was explained and worked out; great customer service by the manager about squashing the issue.
