That is a nice looking bike. Dave what type of bike are you looking for exactly???? I seem to remember you looking for a Yamaha YZF 600. Is that correct? Are you trying to stick with a certain style bike, or have a certain amount of $$$ you are looking to spend?
I am searching for a YZF600R but I ran across the Sprint RS for a good price.
It seems the Sprint is similar to the YZF600R in that it\'s a sport bike that does double duty as a touring bike (to a lesser degree). My riding will be mostly city with the occassional two up weekend getaway. I don\'t need the latest and greatest performance but I don\'t want a boring bike. Btw, I like nice quiet stock exhausts.
My first choice is the YZF but the Sprint may be a good choice also since I\'m having dificullity locating a YZF600R locally that\'s in good shape for a reasonable price.

Have you looked into maintenance related issues since it\'s not one of the big 4?

Thanks for the link.
I\'ve already been in contact with the seller.
It\'s 1000 miles away so picking it up is impossible for me.
Shipping would be about $500.
I\'m still thinking about it but 4K for a 98 doesn\'t seem like such a good deal to me.

And you don\'t know what you are really getting.

Good point, although if his description is accurate, it\'s a bike I could live with.
Is there a season that bikes are cheaper around here?
We just moved from Dallas and during winter the prices come down.
Seems like winter is the best riding season around here.

Yeah winter riding is better around here, and I have found usually the best time to buy is a month or 2 after bike week. Everyone buys a bike for bike week, and then sells after...

that guy had a address, how can it be 1000 miles? Is he located somewhere else?
and yes $4000 wouldn\'t be your best deal.

I can't say for sure slodown, but when I was looking for my 600 a few years ago, i started in the 2nd week of March and noticed that there was a lot of bikes for sale. Also I think I remember some sales guy telling me that.

I've considered it but they're more expensive and I like the YZF better.
PB, do you know much about fixing wrecked bikes.
I know where there's one that's wrecked for $1,500.
It would be a great deal if I could repiar it for < $1000.
The shop that has it said it just slid - didn't hit anything.
What do you think?
