Alright people.. I love me some Hot Wings, and since Wild Wing Cafe closed a year ago, I havent found a place worthy of me coming back.. This has resulted in me sticking to Winghouse, which isnt bad, but isnt great either.. Anyone know of any must eat wing places in the Tampa area?? Im hungry.

Yes naked wings at Winghouse are deff good.. I just think there has to be a place out there that isnt a chain restaurant that has great wings.

Eats American Grill on Dale Mabry just north of Gandy Blvd.
They are known for having the best food from different places in the US and have authentic Buffalo Wings.
I'd give them a shot. Also, the Press box has pretty good wings. But I'm a big fan of naked hot wings from Hooters to be honest.

We win all of the local wing contests at MOJO's with the "MOJO Style" wing - it is a spicy blackened wing - definitely delicious.

I know you said no chain restaurants but I love Winghouse and BW3(Buffalo Wild Wings) in Brandon isn't bad either, esp 60 cent boneless Thursdays. Down side to BW3 is the beer is expensive as hell.

I am a connoisseur of the chicken wing., as far as tampa though, I dont know the area, but I always try them wherever I go. My current places are in St. Pete because I live here, but here are a few.
Saint Pete Ale House - Great breaded, and they have the Mt. St. Helens temp wings. Hot, with a kick of black pepper. They also have a 1$ drink special every day to accompany the wings.
Chattaways Drive In - Great simple bar wings, good old butter and hot sauce.
Midtown Sundries in downtown - only good if done double dipped in the hot pepper sauce, otherwise lame.
BWW, simply because it is BWW, and they have trivia. Which is amazingly fun after a few brews.
WOW Wings down by the southside walmart, but it closed. They had an awesome hot garlic flavor.
There are others, but those are my main rounds.

Buffalo Wild Wings on US19 and Drew in Clearwater. (Blazin', Parmesan Garlic, Asian Zing, and Spicy Garlic are great.)
Wings Gone Wild on Bay to Bay in Tampa. (Cajun is great.)
Quaker Steak on 49th St. where it meets US19 in St. Pete. (Cajun, Atomic, Thia R Cracker, and Golden Garlic are great.)
Midtown in downtown St. Pete. (Nuclear and teriaki are great.)
Fat Cat Tavern in the Tri-City plaza on Eastbay and US19. (Blazin' is the only flavor I've had there.)
I also like the hot wings at the Hooters' around here...But the Hooters' in Lakeland and Bartow have cajun wings than are awesome.
Mugs and Jugs is also good.
I usually go to a couple of these places a few times a week, I'm a wing nut haha.

Funny you should ask that. I went to coasters on Indian Rocks Beach last night and apparently theres a new chef. We ordered blackened mahi sandwiches, nachos, and four different styles of wings. It was all really good, especially the wings. They had one style called char-b-que. They were spicy bbq wings. Anwyays, this place is definitely worth a shot.

Hattricks in downtown Tampa - get them 'shake and baked' (they shake em in hot sauce, then bake them, then throw them in sauce again before served).
They have a happy hour everyday 6-8 then 10-12: 50 cent wings, 1.50 bud light drafts.

I guess this thread proves we all have different tastes in wings......
So I got a groupon for Press Box in Tampa, Awesome little sports bar. They actually have tables set up like a press box in front of dining room and TVs you can sit in, plus Great wings and lots of flavors. I was impressed.
Coob, how long have you lived in Tampa?
Just wondering.
3-4 years. But the first 2 years I didn't really explore the city. Just went back and forth between school and work. So I'm still discovering places. I'm guessing Press Box is more popular? Talked to a friend about it and he said "Oh yea I know them, its awesome."
I think it use to be a great place.
Actually it still is, but you use to be able to go there and have a good time.
Now (about 5 years ago) it gets so packed and out of control on sundays, I don't even stop.
Cool place thou
Wow that's a shame. We went Wednesday afternoon. The bar was full but the dining room was dead empty. I'm sure it fills up gametime tho.
