View Full Version : Rider down tonight
I hate posting up in this section. We had the bike night at the LA Hangout Bar with Ultimate Performance Cycles. It was a good night. Well, we left early to go back to the shop. The ownder Chris and I went to the shop. When I got there, Chris said that some jack ass in a truck was trying to run Chris, friend named Kim, Brain (from Motorsports), and another friend of ours Brent Hunter. Brain, Brent, and Kim went after the guy. Chris and I waited for 10 minutes with no show. So we called Brian, no answer, we called Kim. Apparently, the guy in the truck drove Brent off the road and he hit a tree. Chris and I was there in a heart beat. Good thing, cause the 2 minutes it took to get there, fire and paramedics and cops where already there. Lucky, one of the cops I knew cause he shops at Cycle Gear. The bike is a total. Brent broke his arm and had road rash. He was taken to St. Joe's. Lucky, the other guy Brian didn't stop cause Kim was there and followed the guy to a Hess Station off of Livingston. Brian got the guy, got a couple of good licks on him, and then the cops came and arrested the guy. Brent was awake and good. It took me forever to get ahold of his parents though. I have pictures of the accident, but I am not sure if it is ok for me to post them without talkig to Brent about it first. It my be on News Channel 8 cause they showed up. I did my best to block them from filming the bike, cause I didn't know if Brent wanted it on the news.
Just want to say, it is best to just let it go, don't go after someone. Look what can happen.

I hate cagers trying to prove something w/ bikes.
This story sucks as bad as any. Reminds me of PB's altercation.
I had a similar situation afew weeks back witha hot car after the stunt show at throttle twisters trying to race me. Didn't know if he was clowning or angry.
Sounds like a little personal and professional justice was served.
Speedy recovery!

damn, we already have enough trouble watching our backs for just plain dumbass cagers, now we gotta watch out for psychopathic murderers using their cars as a friggen bowling ball....and we're the pins. this is happening alot in the past few weeks, and in october 2005 i myself was wrecked by one of these asswads. WTF is going on lately, seems like cagers have made up some sort of sick game where harleys are worth five points and sportbikes worth ten.
anyway, i wish him a speedy recovery, and i hope the asshole who took him out gets what they deserve.

Sorry to hear about this but a bike night were the big draw is $5 kill the keg, it's just a matter of time till something like this happended.
I'm not saying any of the Biker swer drinking or that the guy in the Truck came from LA hangout. I just got a very bad feeling from this place the1 time I went when 1 drunk almost fell on our bikes and the owner tried pushing the $5 kill the keg twice befor we could get in the door.
BTW - this is on BN9. Driver charged with leaving the scene, DUI, and agr. assault with a MV.

glad the guy was caught. hopefully he will serve some time behind bars and get some counseling. i've only dealt with these a$$clowns in my car, where i'm armed, never on the bike. maybe it's time to start carrying on the bike too.
i just saw a billboard on my way back from gainesville that said "visitor warning - florida residents can use deadly force."

TAMPA - A motorcyclist was hospitalized and a man arrested after what investigators are calling a late-night road rage incident in the Lutz area.
Brent Alexander Hunt, 24, of Tampa was riding motorcycles Sunday with two friends on U.S. 41 when the driver of a Dodge Dakota pickup began following them, speeding up and slowing down again and again, a Hillsborough sheriff's spokeswoman said.
At about 9:15 p.m., Hunt attempted to pass the truck, which had slowed down a great deal, on Sunset Lane near Cypress Cove Court.
The driver of the truck, Daniel Joseph Dyer, 46, struck Hunt with the side of his vehicle and forced him from the road, where he crashed into a tree, sheriff's spokeswoman Debbie Carter said.
Deputies said Dyer left the scene. But one of Hunt's friends followed Dyer to a Hess gas station at 18431 Livingston Ave., confronted Dyer as he got out of his truck and restrained him until deputies arrived.
Dyer, 1966 Andrews Loop in Lutz, was booked into the Orient Road Jail Monday morning. He posted $17,000 cash bail and was released shortly before 2 p.m.
He is charged with driving under the influence with serious bodily injury and aggravated battery with a motor vehicle that was used as a deadly weapon.
Hunt, 10310 Pennytree Place in Tampa, was listed in fair condition at St. Joseph's Hospital late Monday.

Why would they list a victim's address? That's messed up...

4th DUI arrest had a previous felony battery arrest in 02.
Look at the booking photo link; they did a pretty good job of restraining him ;)
Does anyone know anyone involved? We may need some pressure on the DA to prevent this becoming a no prison time plea bargain deal. Does anyone know a resource to easily check on the status of this case with the Clerkâs office?

Doesn't make much difference, you can find someone's address in less than 5 minutes with their name and a general area. I don't think anyone is going to make any use of the victim's address.
