Here's the dealio...
I'm gonna be selling the 954 pretty soon, like within a few months and I've been thinking Green a while now.
I Love the looks, and I've heard alot of good things about the 04-05 models, namely balls and handling.
Problem is I've never rode one or even sat on one to get a feel.
I've owned 3 CBR's, all big boys.
Also I'm a street stunter by nature so that's a factor.
I really Love the high balance point in the CBR's.
I prefer the looks of older bikes period so I'm def going with an 04-05.
Just wondering who's got em and what ya think, possibly compared to the CBR's.

for what its worth (nothing I know lol) but I like the ninja more those years. Given the choice I'd take it over the cbr.

Ya know you could have just called me.....GREEN is the way to go baby. I don't think I'd ever buy anything but a Kawi now, I've ridden just about eveything, and I dot think anything compares. You won't be disappointed Josh!!

An 05 ZX10R is freakin awesome. I've only ridden an 04 ZX6R (636) and an 05 ZX10R. And I can't imagine having any other bike at this point. The 05 has a very tall 1st gear...can you say about 100 in first gear? Not many can say that...ha ha.....I don't stunt, so I don't know how'd it hold up doing that, but for the riding I do, I love it.
You just def need to get someone with one and sit on it, and see how it feels to you.

Thanx for the replies guys.
I think I know someone....Boobs, if she'd ever answer my texts!!!
I know u have text messaging!!! =)
Yeah, I'm gonna start focusing on these alot more at meets and around.
I'm 90% at this point.
Hell, if Kane stunts Kawi they must be ok.
I'd gear it up and throw a damper on right away for sure.
Oh and Pazzo levers without a doubt.
I have a 05 zx10 and love it,don't think I could own another bike . I like mine better than the new 10.

Josh had a ZX-10 (05) to ride for a few weeks from a bud in the army . It was the fastest bike I've been on in a while !!!! The front wheel was light all the time very strong throughout. After market damper is a MUST!!! Not very stable in high speed corners but the inline speed is sick!! and for what U like to do it would be a hand full I've herd of guys flippen them a few times. I think u have that covered though. Look up an old test the mags say its crazy fast

try and pick up an 05 as the 04 had generator problems. The first generation 10s have the nastiest powerband and will put you on your ass if your not careful.

Good point bob. I guess technically the newer zx10's are actually called zx10r's.

BOB
I said I have gens 1,2, and 3 ZX-10R's
Those are completely different bikes from the ZX1000's you're clumping them in with.
A gen 1 is 04/05 , gen 2 is 06/07, and a gen 3 is 08/09.
ZX1000's and ZX10's are not ZX-10R's. Next time you want to correct someone make sure you're right.

Ok, you're talking the 10R, not the straight 10, which is if you want to be technical the bike your 04/05 came from. its a first gen 10R, but third gen ZX1000 if you want to nitpick about details.

Couldn't find anything before 88, but all ZX10's, ZX10R's I've found ARE in the ZX1000-xxx series/generations. If there's B, C, D and E, there's gotta be an A right? lol....But as what was stated, she has the gen's of ZX-10R's.........
1988 Ninja ZX-10 (ZX1000-B1)
1989 Ninja ZX-10 (ZX1000-B2)
1990 Ninja ZX-10 (ZX1000-B3)
==
2004 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-C1)
2005 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-C2)
2006 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-D6F)
2007 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-D7F)
2007 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-D7FA)
2008 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-E8F)
2009 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-E9F)
2009 Ninja ZX-10R (ZX1000-E9FA)

Thanks sparky. the 86-87 is the ZX1000A series, which wasnt called a ZX10, but just the Ninja 1000R. 86 was the A1, and 87 was the A2 models. the A and B variants used the same motor but with a different head and downdraft carbs, everything else was 100% different in them. then here was a good 14 year break before the 1000's made a comeback.
In their place though was a ZX11 which was for the longest time a REALLY BADASS bike, and still is in a way.

READ MY POST, even the one you quoted says "10R" then you said no I don't blah blah blah. I clearly said I have a 1st gen 10R, a 2nd gen 10R, and a 3rd gen 10R...just admit that you were wrong!!! It's ok, we all make mistakes, you just tried to correct me, an I knew I was right. I've done it, we all have. I know I'm a girl, but I've been riding and working on bikes since before I was legal to drive a car. I'm not just some ditzy girl who got a bike because it was the in thing to do, or because my boyfriend had one. I'm not saying I'm always right, Dan schools me on things all the time, but I know my bike, but I also know when to admit I'm wrong.
Oh by the way Josh...my 2004 has been nothing but a dream. No tranny issues, no generator problems...but I did replace the motor...Dan blew the 1052 we had in it over the bayside bridge with the n2o....I got a motor with 1000 miles on it for a really good deal and I've taken really good care of it. I can't speak for all of them, but my 04 is absolutely amazing.

tom cruise rode a GPZ900 in top gun. and actually in one or two scenes, he just sat on it while the bike was trailered.
the GPZ900 was the father of the ZX1000 actually. the 84-86 models at least used the same exact engine as the ZX1000, just with a few small differences like bore.

whatever, ZX10, 10R, all the same family of bikes in the end, just many years apart. not going to argue it.

Ill go with that, but I'm not going to go with someone puttng their 2 cents in, and telling me I'm wrong when I'm not. Thats why I posted back. I really couldn't care less, I'm just trying to help my buddy out, answering his quesions about my bike, there really was no need for your post saying I was wrong. Even if I was, that wasn't the topic of the thread. It was about Josh, and seeing what people thought about a bike. So sorry Joshy-poo, didn't really mean to jack your thread!

Who cares which are which... the old ones are S**T Boxes anyways i rather have a older zrx1200 and thats about it... This post is about the 04-05 ZX-10R- and as a owner of 3 ZX-10Rs I would say it is a "slightly above average bike"... let me elaborate....
The motor is great! - tons of power in any gear at any rpm. strongest pulling motor out of all the liter bikes till today even...
the suspension needs help... shocks are eh... and the way the bike is set up there is minimal head weight causing the bike to bog in turns or tank slap if you let go of the bars at high speeds...
the breaks blow.... they need a whole new set up...
kawasaki improved just about all of this stuff on the new 08-09 ZX-10R, but the motor is not as "ballsy" its more usable power...

No worries babe.
I've been watching thread jacks and silly internet arguments about dumb shit for years.
