View Full Version : ABATE attendance
I know that most here would be apart of the Hillsborough Chapter for ABATE.
http://www.abateflhcc.org (http://www.abateflhcc.org/)/
To be honest, although I strive to be a bigger part of the rider community in my area, I have yet to attend the chapter closer to my home. http://westcoast.abateflorida.com/
I guess my reason for creating this new thread is, after a friend, Demitri, died on a ride, I want to not only try and spark more interest towards the only easily accessible foundation dedicated to riders rights, but educate myself. Who here is a member? How many sportbike riders here are a part of the Gulf Coast ABATE chapters? I'm new to this forum. Sorry to get so deep.

I have been a member since last year of the Hillsborough chapter. Great organization to be a part of and support our rights when we ride!

Is anyone coming to Spooks and Scoots this weekend? It's the Hillsborough County ABATE Chapter's main fundraising event put on annually.
Check out my other post http://tampasportbikes.com/forum/showthread.php?t=37301 and come out and have some fun. ABATE members are discounted to get in, and if you volunteer to work (a super-easy) shift at one of the many areas we need help, we'll give you a free meal for each shift.
Saturday at 1 pm the bike games start, and rarely do we have many sportbike riders compete, whenever they do, they do really well in the slow-race (just let out some air in your back tire), among the other events.
If you cant make it out, but are planning to go on a ride Sunday morning, ride up north, and make your way by CR41 in Hernando by I-75. Lots of nice twisties in that area...
Come on in to Sertoma Youth Ranch -- map (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=85+MYERS+RD,+BROOKSVILLE,+FL+34602&sll=37.0625,-95.677068&sspn=48.822589,79.013672&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=85+Myers+Rd,+Brooksville,+Hernando,+Florida+ 34602&t=h&z=17) -- (we wont charge you Sunday) and give us a hand in breaking stuff down. We'll be exhausted by then, and some helping hands in the sportbike community will be just what the doctor ordered.
Thanks, hope to see some of you there.
