A lot of people have really like the Michelin Pilot Powers, I have them and I love them, the stick really well on the street. I havent tried them on the track yet.
Sport rider did a tire test for the dec issue, and they rated the New Dunlop Qualifiers higher than the Pilot Powers.. They said it was a better tire, but I don't know anyone who has tried them yet.
Others like the Pirelli's

I GOT THE POWERS............... LOVE EM
i just got done with a set of michelin power race (medium) and i hate them. they were real good for about 60 track miles at which point the back tire actually warped and chunked while in turn 2 of jennings which made me just about high side. i have never had that problem with dunlops. i would just like to think i might have gotten a bad tire....

That does seem to be a serious failure for a tire with just 60 mi on them. There must have been a small defect in it.

Are you talking about the Metzeler ME Z4? That's a Sport Touring tire. Low on grip, high on life.

I have a set of Pilot Powers on the R1 right now. They are really good tires. I've noticed that they take a little longer to heat up compared to the Pirelli Diablo Corsas. They also seem to not like to grip as well when leaned over on the bumpy roads.
My next set of tires will be Diablo Corsas again.
Tire preferance is like ice cream. Everyone has a different favorite flavor.

I think im going to go with the Michelin Pilot Powers, does anyone know a good local shop that has these in stock for a good price? I heard someone talking about getting a set with free mount and balance. Just don't want to go to Euro Cycles and pay 75 an hour for labor. I need to throw on my new front/rear sprocket and chain as well, don't know if anyone could give me a hand doing that before/after i get the tires done. I'd just pay to have it done but money is a bit too tight for that. Thanks.
yeah that was my next question as well....Cost...Location etc...I need a new tire mine are balding
