I have this on both of my bikes and have to say it is worth it's weight in gold. The install is a complete breeze (two wires to your high beam and the transmitter is a sealed unit -- no water worries), and now I just tag my brights twice when I turn on my road and the garage door is open when I get there and I sail right in. Then I tag my brights twice before I even turn the bike off and the garage door is closing before I'm even off the bike. It is completely the deal.

I just hard wired my garage door opener to my pass switch (stock on 04 and leter Gixxers)

you can buy garage remotes that are small litle key fobs from Home Depot for $20

I considered doing that way back when when I installed mine, but honestly didn't want to have to screw with having to mess with replacing batteries in the remote, etc. The F2P thing is completely waterproof (it's a little sealed brick with two wires coming out) and doesn't need any batteries, etc.

P.S. I think discussion of alternate solutions would be cool in one of the tech forums, but probably not in someone's group buy. My two cents.

don't get me wrong if people want to spend the money on it then by all means go for it Hell I'll even help di installs.

But I can voice my opinion and for the price a the keyfob is the way to go.

Actually, Frank and I were at the shop one night looking up at the roll-up door and wondering exactly that -- where can we get an opener for his roll-up door. That's the other neat thing with these units, because the transmitter isn't specific to the model of opener you have (it has it's own receiver that hooks to your opener), the same transmitter on your bike can open multiple different garage doors, as long as you have a F2P receiver at each location, and as long as you "pair" the transmitter to both receivers. Both of my bikes are paired to my house and Frank's house, so I can open my door and his (even though we have different models of garage door openers).

Now about your front door -- that might be more of a challenge... :-)

One requires flashing your brights.

the other requires locating your keyfob that your keeping in a waterproof location and then activating it while riding....maybe with gloves on.

I think we're attempting to comparing apple to oranges.

.........anyway...it's a groupbuy discussion folks........let's keep it on track.

No it is its own remote. You connect the two wires, double flash your brights, and Bammo open says-a-me

How does it work? Flash the high beams once to energize the transmitter. Flash them twice and the transmitter sends out the open/close signal to the receiver inside the garage. Newer vehicles with a built-in flash-to-pass function only have to flash the high beams once, since power is continuously sent to the headlight high beam switch.

The system is also totally safe. All wireless signals use rolling encrypted codes. With more than 5 billion possible codes, the same code is never used twice, so thieves can't grab the code to gain access to your home. And since there's no external remote, would-be crooks won't be able to swipe your opener to unlawfully enter your home.

Installation is easy enough for even the most basic do-it-yourselfers. Simply attach the tiny transmitter onto one of the wires leading to your car's high beam lights. And since the transmitter is not polarity sensitive, you won't have to worry about which wire is positive and which wire is ground. Just clamp it on and it figures out the rest.

It's really slick the way it works. Right out of the box, your remote will be paired to your receiver (a matched set and all that jazz). But it gets better. You can place the receiver (the part that goes on the wall in your garage) into pairing mode and then flash the brights and the reciever will "register" the code of the devise that just flashed so it will allow that to open the door. The receiver can work with up to 6 remotes. ALSO the remote itself will work with any paired reciever not only the one that came in the box.

Examples: You have a House and your Brother-in-law has a house and you want to be able to open either/both doors with your bike. That would work.

EXAMPLE 2: You have 2 bikes and 2 cars and you want to be able to flash the brights on any vehicle you own and open the door, that works too.

EXAMPLE 3: You have 2 bikes and 2 cars and you only want the bikes to open your door and your brother-in-laws door, but you want the cars to only work on your door, that works too.

The security is cool because (other than the remote that comes in the box) no other devise can open your door until it has been paired. But in order to pair the devise you have to be inside the garage and place the master unit (the receiver) into pairing mode. It's really a neat setup.

Additional remote are also available at a discount from Pure Acceleration for 35 bucks...so mix and match all you want.

I also like the fact that I no longer carry a garage door opener in my truck. I leave the truck parked in my drive way while I'm at work. If I had an old style garage door opener in there all someone would have to do is break my car window and then they could be in the house in seconds. With the F2P devise they would need to have the key to my truck in order to flash the lights, not only that but they have to know it do that in the first place. Like MotoMache2 pointed out, no batteries either so in the long run it's just such a convenience.

TECHNICAL GEEK STUFF FOLLOWS ****

The way it works is that your normal remote that you got with your garage door opener sends a signal to the opener itself (the thing hanging on your ceiling) so it opens the door when you push the button on your remote. Those will all still work as they normally have so if your spouse has one in the car....they won't notice anything at all, same as always, push the button and door opens. HOWEVER, the unit comes with a new push button thingee that goes on the wall in the garage. Most folks already have one that's just outside the door right by yur light switch. This is the one that you would push to manually open your door like if you go out to check the mail etc....the new receiever REPLACES that one. Just unplug the old one and put the new one in the same spot. It still works just like the old one did. So again the spouse may notice that the button is a different color or something like that, but again nothing really changes......except that the new wall thingee now interacts with your bike as well and That's how it opens the door for you. The new wall thingee is actually a manual opener AND a remote receiver all in one.....hope that made sense.

If you get cought in a good rain storm and it get's wet it will not work anymore. That is what happen to me with the first one. It would be alot better to just flash my lights and if my light get wet it will still work. The secound one broke off and I don't know were it fell off. I am in for this.

Pretty much you got it. You don't have to wire it to your switch per se, just to the + and - that go to your high beam headlight. That gives it power and trigger. The part that goes on the bike is "potted", so it is completely vibration and waterproof, and it can go anywhere. The part that goes in the garage just either replaces your current "wall button" or gives you an extra wall button (and attaches to your opener just like the original wall button does). It's a simple thing, but so much better than having to dismount, go type the code on the outdoor pad, and then remount to pull in (I have a sloped driveway) which is what I used to have to do.

I've had mine since before Frank became a dealer. I paid top dollar for the thing somewhere else, and still it has been worth every penny. I can't imagine owning a bike that you keep in the garage without putting one of these on it.

Yep....you sure can. All that is needed for the remote to work is a ground wire and a "tap" into the high beam light so it works equally well on the car/truck or on a motorcycle. Swing by and I'll show you the one on my CBR so you can see what I'm talking about. It's about a 5 minute install and it works great.

Normally when a place sells something thier advertisment says, "Try the new XXXXXXX available at YYYYYYYY" and not "Try the new XXXXXXX from YYYYYYY"

Who's selling triple x related material on a motorcycle board?

Frank thanks for hooking me up with the Flash2Pass tonight. I was reading it and it looks so easy to hook up. I am going to hook it up this weekend. It even comes with a free installcard. All you have to do is go to there web site. Enter the install card number and schedule your free installation.

I would feel bad doing that. This looks so easy to do. It should take no more that 10 to 15 min. I will post up this weekend and let you know how it works.
good cause I aint helping you

I hooked the system up today. It took me about 20min. The only reason it took me longer was because I did not replace my button by my door. I added another one next to the bike(this one comes with the system). I did this because if i am working in that area and I want to open it. I don't have to walk all the way to the button. I have another one right there. But anyway. It is all hooked up. IT WORKS GREAT. I went for a ride today and when I came back all I had to do was flash my lights and the door opened.
Frank once again Thank you. I don't have to carry a remote around with me no more. This system got my thumbs up.:occasion1

I paid for it over the website but it charged me full price can you fix that from your end if you get 15 people or since you did not get 15 do I have to pay full price? Either way, paid...Added some Icon Holigans Pants to balance it out also....lol

I wanted to know if by any chance they came without the star in the back pocket. I like them with the letters going down the side of the leg.

take the chain off and use a bikey ringand the only way its ngoing to get wet enough to mess it up if you drop your bike in a puddle or your keys in the toilet.
